Davis Finnigan Wedding
November 6, 2011
“I simply can’t take my eyes off of you.”
The thought simply runs through your head over and over. We both felt our wedding day was extremely magical, and it lived up to all of our expectations. Everything was decidedly unique, from the beauty of the participants to being surrounded by family and friends to the party, by which all parties will be measured for the rest of our lives.
It’s amazing the path to this day began fifteen years ago as Erin and Tim met each other as fellow part-time employees at Best Buy. The path eventually forced them separate ways with each leaving Kansas City to fulfill academic goals. Inevitably, as all great stories go, their separate paths became one once again, and Erin and Tim picked up where they left off so many years ago.
No one moment could be described as the best as they were all unique, but the whirlwind began with the first meeting between bride and groom on the balcony of the Intercontinental Hotel. The wealth of joyful emotion getting to see the bride for the first time kicked off the wedding. This was soon followed by a moment shared with our immediate family and best friends. From that moment on, we couldn’t look away from each other.
Leading up to this day took a great deal of hard work, devotion and a little luck as Peggy (bride’s mother) and Erin created their dream wedding ceremony with an equally amazing reception. There was a great deal of travel involved in finding the wedding dress for the bride, but she ended up finding “the one” at Julian Gold in San Antonio, TX. It was also quite an adventure deciding on the attire for the supporting cast. However, when the day arrived, we all looked great!
When the room stopped spinning, and we were forced back to reality, the best was yet to come. Less then two days after the wedding, we found ourselves at our Honeymoon destination of Antigua in the West Indies. We spent seven days at the all-inclusive Sandals Resort. We spent every day enjoying what the small island had to offer, but mostly, each other’s company.
We came home and simply couldn’t wait to re-live the whole event again. Both the ceremony and reception were exceptional in the grand ballroom at the Intercontinental Hotel. The flowers, centerpieces and one-of-a-kind chuppah were all created by the imaginative Craig Sole. The band Galaxy, out of St. Louis, assisted us in making the night fun and memorable for everyone involved. Our videographer, Sharon Steele, captured amazing footage which we have already enjoyed watching over the course of many nights. Our perfect wedding cake came to life with the help of Kay Benjamin (Take the Cake). And, most importantly, both Mike and Tiffany from Freeland Photography were with us for over 9 hours on the day of the wedding. We feel so fortunate to have worked with them. They were simply a joy to be around, and they helped capture the moments we hope to re-live over and over. We can’t WAIT to see the final pictures. We are quite certain that we simply won’t be able to take our eyes off of them as well.
