Karpuk Carter Wedding
July 23rd, 2011
Bride's recap:
*How did the two of you meet? Brian and I met through a mutual friend at "Schoolyard", a popular bar in Wrigleyville/Chicago. Brian and I had arrived at the bar with the intention of going on a "bar crawl", where you hop to several different bars in one night. However, once meeting one another, we decided to jump off the bar crawl. We ended up talking with one another for the remainder of the night at a bar named "Justins". Shortly after, we went on our first date. We have enjoyed one another's company ever since and then fell in love. *What was your favorite moment on the wedding day? Two Moments: 1. One of our favorite moment's was when we stood back and noticed that EVERYONE was on the dance floor and enjoying themselves at the reception. It was truly a wonderful day to share with close family and friends. 2. Our other favorite moment was during the ceremony. It was such a special moment to have Brian's Father and Father Lickteig(who baptized Caitlyn) marry us.*What thought went through the groom's mind the first time he saw you?
How beautiful she looked. But that wasn't surprising!
*What was the best decision/favorite vendor you hired? Freeland Photography & With Grace were our favorite vendors. Mike was so flexible and creative and we felt relieved to have found him as our photographer. He went the extra mile to catch each and every moment throughout the night. He stayed with us until the clock hit 12. He even reminded us to get special photos throughout the night. He had our best interest in mind all throughout the day. I also enjoyed working with "With Grace" in Chicago. They worked magic with our invitations. They were calm, kind and offered the best wedding advice throughout the process.*Was there anything you would have done differently on your day? Our wedding trolley was falling apart and didn't have the best air conditioning. However, it's difficult to keep a trolley cool when there are 22 occupants and it's 100 degrees outside in the heat of the summer. It might have been better to have our wedding in October as opposed to the middle of July :).
*How many dresses did you try on before you found YOUR dress? I found my wedding dress at the first bridal salon I visitied. The woman who assisted me instantly understood what I was looking for and brought out 5 dresses that I loved. After visiting the first bridal salon, I couldn't find a dress more fitting for my personality. I couldn't get the first dress out of my mind. That's when I knew I had found "the dress" for me.
*Where did you spend your honeymoon? We spent our honeymoon in Italy. We explored the following places in the course of 10 days and 9 nights: Capri, Positano, Salerno, Tuscany, Cortona, Arezzo, Sienna, Florence & Venice. We rented a car in the Amalfi Coast and drove it up through Tuscany to Arezzo. It was quite an adventure driving a stick shift through the hill country. It was a romantic adventure that Brian I will remember forever.
*What was your opinion/reviews of Freeland Photography? A+++ Mike was wonderful! He was flexible, creative and willing to do anything and everything to capture each special moment.
