Notes from the Bride

Michael and I started dating at the end of high school and spent our undergraduate years apart, with Michael at Boston College and myself at the University of Missouri. We were determined to attend medical school and law school in the same city and chose Creighton University in Omaha. After six years of dating, Michael proposed to me on December 18, 2010, in our favorite place: Maine.

With busy school and exam schedules, we decided on June 18, 2011, in Saint Joseph, with the ceremony at First Baptist Church and the reception at the Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art. Thanks to all the vendors and the endless hours my mother, Janet, and Michael's mother, Robin, our wedding day was perfect. Michael and I gave each other gifts while on opposite ends of the church and as I waited with my father for our grand entrance, the laughter from the guests at our adorable ring bearers and flower girl kept us smiling. As I walked through the doors, there was Michael, smiling back at me as if it were only us in the room.

It is impossible to pick a favorite moment from the day, but one of our favorites was driving away from the church in Michael's dad's convertible as all of our guests threw confetti on us. We spent our honeymoon in the US Virgin Islands--the first half on St. Thomas followed by St. John. The entire wedding adventure was more spectacular than either of us could have imagined. We were thrilled with our decision to hire Freeland Photography, Mike was wonderful for the engagement photos and John, Maks, and Natasha were excellent at the wedding. Thank you all so much.
