Michael and I met while we were both attending the University of Kansas in Lawrence. We had several mutual friends and very quickly the two of us became friends. Eventually we started dating and have been happily together ever since. In the spring of 2009 Michael was busy working on a surprise proposal and even chose the vintage inspired ring himself. In July he proposed and not long after we started envisioning our wedding.

It was very important to us to include all of our friends and family in the wedding and because of that our wedding day was really more like an entire week of celebrating. Our ceremony took place at Good Shepherd Catholic Church and the reception was held at the Grand Reserve. It was absolutely beautiful. Everything we had planned for was perfect. We chose amazing vendors. The cake looked and tasted fabulous – thanks to Michelle at Iced Art. DJ Debby Z was right on and as always, top notch. Mike Freeland and his team are so professional they quickly put you at ease, even when the day is flying by.

One of our favorite moments from the day was walking into the Reserve and feeling so excited and lucky that the entire place was filled with the beautiful smiles of family and friends. Later in the evening we remember laughing as our grandmothers refused to leave the dance floor! Michael and I are looking forward to treasuring the pictures that Freeland Photography took that day for many years.
